Another 53,500 homeless families will be relocated and given newly constructed homes next June under the PMO's Ashrayan project, a government housing project for the homeless, implemented in marking Mujib Year.

The information was provided at a meeting held at the Prime Minister's office (PMO) on Monday to review progress of the ongoing construction work under the housing project.

The meeting was presided over by the Prime Mnister's Principal Secretary, Dr Ahmed Kaikaus.

Secretary to the Prime Minister's Office, Md Tofazzal Hossain Mia, and Project Director Md Mahabub Hossain, also spoke on the occasion.

At that time, all the deputy commissioners and field level officials were connected to the Prime Minister's Office via video conferencing.

During the meeting, Principal Secretary Dr Ahmed Kaikaus instructed all government officials involved in the project to be vigilant in maintaining quality in the construction of houses.

Dr Kaikaus said, "We must make sure that the keys to the newly constructed houses go to the right people and to the people who truly need them."
