Indian freedom fighters lay wreaths at National Martyrs’ Memorial
They are scheduled to visit Kalihati area of Tangail – where Indian paratroopers were dropped during the Liberation War
A delegation of 39 Indian Army personnel, who participated in the Liberation War of 1971, paid homage to the martyrs of the war – placing wreaths at National Martyrs' Memorial in Savar on Friday, read a press release.
Arriving in Dhaka on 25 March, the Indian Army delegation is currently visiting Bangladesh on the occasion of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the Golden Jubilee of Independence.
During the visit, the Indian delegation is scheduled to visit the Liberation War Museum, Bangabandhu Memorial Museum and Kalihati area of Tangail – where Indian paratroopers were dropped during the Liberation War.
The delegation is due to return to India on 29 March.
