Fewer extrajudicial killing in Bangladesh than USA: Momen

Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen today said 'false news about extrajudicial killing are heavily circulated when the government does not even support it.'

'In fact, the real number is only a handful and it is much lower than the number of incidents elsewhere, such as in the USA', he said while addressing a training workshop on Right to Information Act 2009 and Online Tracking System, arranged by the Sylhet district administration and Information Commission.

The government has ensured the access to accurate information by implementing Right to Information Act 2009, he added, saying the application of this law is imperative to build digital Bangladesh.

Chief Information Commissioner Martuza Ahmed, Sylhet Divisional Commissioner Mashiur Rahman and Deputy Commissioner Kazi Emdadul Islam also spoke at the workshop.
