13 indicted for torturing Begumganj woman
On 2 September, members of Delwar Bahini entered the woman’s house, tied up her husband, sexually assaulted her and recorded the incident on a mobile phone
A court has framed charges against 13 accused, including Delwar Bahini chief Delwar, in a case filed over torturing a woman at Eklashpur in Noakhali's Begumganj upazila.
Meanwhile, another accused named Moazzem Hossain Prakash Sohag was acquitted of the charge.
Judge Joynal Abedin of the Women and Child Abuse Suppression Tribunal-1 passed the order on Wednesday afternoon.
The 13 accused are Nur Hossain Badal, Abdur Rahim, Md Ali Prakash Abul Kalam, Israfil Hossain Mia, Main Uddin Saju, Samsuddin Sumon, Abdur Rob Chowdhury, Mostafizur Rahman Arif, Jamal Uddin, Nur Hossain Rasel, Mizanur Rahman Tarek, Anwar Hossain Sohag and Delwar Hossain Delu.
Public Prosecutor Mamunur Rashid Lavlu confirmed the matter and said, "Nine of the accused were present during the hearing, and four are fugitives."
Earlier, on 14 December last year, the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) submitted a charge sheet against 14 accused in the case.

On 4 October, they released the video on social media, and it went viral. On October 5, the victim filed a case with the Begumganj Police Station under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act naming Delwar Bahini member, Badal, as the main accused, and eight other members of the group.
