US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump tested positive for Covid-19.

"We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately," Trump said in a tweet early on Friday.

Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!

Trump experiencing mild coronavirus symptoms, says White House official

Earlier on Thursday, Trump said he was beginning a quarantine process after Hope Hicks, a top adviser and trusted aide, tested positive for the coronavirus.

Hicks travels regularly with the president on Air Force One and, along with other senior aides, accompanied him to Ohio for the presidential debate on Tuesday and to Minnesota for a campaign event on Wednesday.

How Trump downplayed Covid-19 threat and ended up being infected

So far 207,605 people died in the United State from the dreaded virus and 7,268,298 cases of infection were recorded as of October 2. Meanwhile 2,840,747 people recovered there. Globally, the virus killed 1,027,654 so far, according to Worldometers.
