The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) elections are taking place today. The voters have started to exercise their voting rights from 2 pm after the annual general meeting took place. While the voters were voting at the Pan Pacific Sonargoan, a few people were seen protesting outside.
Some football fans have been protesting with anti-Salahuddin placards outside the hotel. One of them said, "We are well-wishers of Bangladesh football. We have taken a stand to save our football."
One of the placards read, "Remove Salahuddin, save football. The nation wants freedom for the shameful ranking of 197." Another placard read, "We want change, we want improvement."
But this kind of protest against the incumbent president Kazi Salahuddin is not new. He has been heavily criticised on the social media as the netizens extensively used the 'Salahuddin out, save football' hashtag.
The protest has not been limited to the social media. Previously, human chains were held in and outside Dhaka to remove Kazi Salahuddin from the supreme chair.
