Khulna reports first death from Covid-19
He was detected to be positive for Covid-19 after testing his sample with the PCR machine at Khulna Medical College
A 43-year-old Covid-19 positive patient died from the novel Coronavirus in Khulna on Tuesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Nur Alam Khan, son of Golam Khan at Rajapur village in Khulna's Rupsha upazila.
Khulna Medical College (Khumek) Principal Prof. Abdul Ahad said 191 samples, including Nur Alam, were tested in the PCR machine of Khulna Medical College on Tuesday. It is the first death from coronavirus in the district.
Family member brought the man to the Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH) around 8:45am on Tuesday after suffering from Covid-19 like symptoms for five days and he died on arrival, said medical officer Dr Ashrafur Rahman at KMCH emergency unit.
Later, he was detected to be positive for Covid-19 after testing his sample with the Polymer Chain Reaction (PCR) machine at Khulna Medical College.
Relatives of the deceased said Nur Alam had been suffering from fever, coughs and breathing problems for the last five days. He worked in a mobile company as well as mobile servicing.
