RAB seals off Regent Hospital’s Mirpur Branch
Regent Hospital Mirpur reportedly owes the building owner Tk45 lakh in rent
A team of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has sealed off Regent Hospital's Mirpur-12 branch after inspection.
RAB Executive Magistrate Sarwoer Alam confirmed the news to The Business Standard.
"We went to see the condition of the branch, how they operate and if there was any other negligence or irregularities," Sarwoer Alam said.
He inquired about the equipment used in the hospital and finally sealed off the hospital.
Meanwhile, Regent Hospital Mirpur reportedly owes the building owner Tk45 lakh in rent.
At the time of RAB's visit, landlord Firoz Alam Chowdhury said Md Shahed forcefully rented the building for the hospital branch in early 2016. "There were irregularities in paying the rent from the beginning. He used to threaten me when I asked for the rent," he added.
"In order to collect the rent, I filed two GDs with the local police station in 2019. At one stage, I sent a legal notice but it was not possible to get the rent in any way. They still owe me Tk45 lakh in rent," he claimed.
