Taskin optimistic to continue his BPL form

Bangladesh right-arm pace Taskin Ahmed is optimistic to continue on a good form in the upcoming season of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) which is rebranded as Bangabandhu BPL to pay tribute to the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The 24-year-old pacer bagged 22 wickets in the last season of BPL in January this year. In a media interaction on Thursday, he said he is upbeat to continue on that form when he takes the field for Rangpur Rangers.

"I enjoy playing BPL more than any domestic events. In this league, we get the chance to play with the best players in the world, to the dressing room with share them. These things inspire me to perform well," Taskin told the media.

"I'll try to continue showing my better performance in BPL so that the Rangpur Rangers win riding on my performance," Taskin added.

After tremendous bowling show in BPL earlier this year, Taskin got a call in the national team for New Zealand tour. But he had sustained a blow on his leg in the last match during his previous BPL team Sylhet Sixers which eventually prevented him to play for the Tigers.

"I'm doing well now. Injury is an integral part of a pacer's life. We don't have any control on that. But I need to try to manage my injuries well so that I can recover faster and get ready for the action," Taskin further told the media.

Altogether, seven teams will fight for the title in this edition of BPL. Apart from the Rangers, the other teams are- Dhaka Plaaton, Chattogram Challengers, Rajshahi Royals, Khulna Tigers, Comilla Warriors and Sylhet Thunder.
