The global epidemic coronavirus has the world in shambles. Its prevalence in Bangladesh is increasing everyday . Considering the situation, the release of the movie "Mission Extreme" has been postponed from its initial Eid release.

The cop action-thriller is helmed by director duo Faisal Ahmed and Sunny Sarwar.

The official announcement came from  Sunny Sanwar, one of the directors, producers and screenplay writers of the movie. In the announcement he said Mission Extreme would not be released until the coronavirus crisis is resolved.

Sanwar also said, "The situation is a big shock for the entertainment world. It's like a tsunami that has swept away our small industry. But we have to move forward with patience," adding that they wanted to premiere the movie to a large audience. "It would have been better if the film could be released during Eid. Now that it is not possible. I will release the first part of the movie later at a convenient time. The second part will be released afterwards," the director stated.

He added, "We wanted to release Mission Extreme in several countries. I was thinking of releasing it to relax the situation. However, it is clear that the time is not coming any time soon."

The central characters in the film are played by Arifin Shuvoo, Jannatul Ferdous Oishee, Sadia Nabila and Taskin Rahman. The shooting of the two-part movie ended earlier this year.

Mission Extreme also stars Sumit Sengupta, Shatabdi Wadud, Majnoon Mizan, Iresh Jaker, Manoj Pramanik, Aref Syed, Sudipta Deep, Rashed Mamun Apu, Ehsanul Rahman, Dipu Imam, among others.

The movie was inspired by real life expeditions of the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police.

Mission Extreme is co-produced by Mime Multimedia and Dhaka Detective Club.
