Journalists of India boycott Kangana Ranaut
The actress got into an ugly battle of words with the reporter Justin Rao on July 7
Kangana Ranaut’s spat with a reporter during the promotional event of her movie “Judgementall Hai Kya” has led to her getting boycotted by the Entertainment Journalists' Guild of India.
On July 7, the actress got into an ugly battle of words with the reporter Justin Rao when she accused him of ridiculing her film “Manikarnika” by giving it bad press.
A war of words went on between the two and the journalist accused Kangana of intimidating him. Entertainment Journalists' Guild of India send a letter to Ekta Kapoor demanding an apology from Kangana.
The letter read: "We, as a guild, have collectively decided to boycott Ms Ranaut and not give her any media coverage."
Kangana Ranaut's sister Rangoli Chandel who acts as her manager rejected possibility of an apology from the actress.
Rangoli took a dig at Justin by tweeting that, "Ek baat ka main vaada karti hoon, Kangana se apology nahin milegi, in bikau, nange, deshdrohi, desh ke dalal, libtard mediawalon ko. Magar who tumko dho dho kar sidha zaroor karegi. Just wait and watch, tumne galat insan se maafi mangi hai," roughly translated as- “I promise Kangana won't apologise, you have asked the wrong person for an apology.”
Ekta Kapoor on her social media account, posted an apology stating that, “While the people involved in (the argument) fairly held their own perspectives but because it happened at the event of our film, we, as the producers would like to apologize and express regret for this untoward incident." She also pleaded the media to not let this one incident hamper the team effort that has gone into the film.
“Judgmentall Hai Kya” has been mired in controversy since the declaration of their release date. Hrithik Roshan's “Super 30” and “Judgementall Hai Kya” was about to clash on box office when at the last moment Hrithik rescheduled the release date of his movie.
“JudgeMentall Hai Kya?” is scheduled to be released on July 26.
