The fire at Adamjee Court building in the capital's Motijheel area has been brought under control.
Thirteen firefighting units have brought the flame under control around 3:30 pm after two hours of frantic efforts, said firefighter Md Anisur Rahman from the spot.
The fire originated on the 7th floor of the building, which houses a branch of NRB Commercial Bank, around 1.35 pm.
The cause of the fire and extent of damage could not be known yet.
