1,577 medical teams formed to face Bulbul
The government has formed 1,557 medical teams across 15 districts to take care of medical needs in the wake of cyclone Bulbul.
In addition, holidays of all employees in the affected areas has been cancelled, said a press release from the Directorate of Health Services.
The teams consist of medical officers, assistant surgeons, senior staff nurses, midwifes, health assistants and community healthcare providers, the release added.
Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief has opened 4,516 shelter centres in the area, and enough medical supplies are present there.
Extra emphasis is being given to pregnant women and emergency maternity services are also available at the centres.
