Stagnant water and piled-up plastic waste are visible in sections of the Kallyanpur 'Cha' canal. A 2023 box culvert, built by Dhaka Nort as part of Syed Mahbub Morshed Road development, has significantly narrowed the canal. The canal, which flows behind the National Orthopaedic Hospital, is contributing to worsening mosquito and insect infestations, further deteriorating living conditions for both locals and hospital patients.
