18th death anniversary of advocate Badiul Alam
To commemorate the occasion 'Advocate Badiul Alam Memorial Foundation’ will organise a milad mahfil at Chandonaish
Thursday is the 18th death anniversary of well known freedom fighter, politician, and advocate Badiul Alam.
Alam was born in Fatehnagar village of Chandonaish thana of Chattogram in 1926. He did his undergraduate degree from Calcutta University in 1946 and followed it up with a LLB from Dhaka University.
During the Liberation War in Chattogram, he was an Awami League regional president. Also, later took on the responsibility of the Socialist Party Chittagong as its south division president.
After the Liberation War, he became the vice president of the Lawyer's Association in 1972 and later became the president of the association in 1981. He was briefly a teacher at the Bangabandhu Law Temple.
Moreover, Alam was on the committees for several organisations including Bangladesh Red Crescent Society, National Cancer Prevention Society, Muslim Education Society etc. He spearheaded his entire life in the activities of Kodom Mubarak Muslim Orphans Feeding.
Aside from these, Alam helped set up the Fatehnagar Sharifunessa Nazir Uddin Girls High School, a primary school, a madrasa and a knowledge center library in his own village.
To commemorate the occasion 'Advocate Badiul Alam Memorial Foundation' will organise a milad mahfil at Chandonaish.
