Popular South Indian actress Samantha Akkineni who has been garnering praises for her role as Raji, a Tamil terrorist in the popular web series "The Family Man 2."

Samantha Akkineni made a name for herself by appearing in several super hit movies throughout her career. Her recent movies like Mersal, Rangasthalam, Super Deluxe, Majili, Oh! Baby and Jaanu have become the biggest hits in South Indian cinema.

Samantha Akkineni shed away her glamourised avatar to make way for some action-packed sequence in her Hindi debut series. This is the first time in her career that she was seen holding a gun.

After the release, she has been receiving critical acclaim from fans and movie buffs. Although she has received a backlash from a section of the Tamil audience who alleged that her role in the web series showed the Elam Tamils in a bad light, she was being lauded for the brilliant performance.

Several celebrities including Rakul Preet Singh, Rashi Khanna, Rashmika Mandanna lauded Samantha for her role in the show. While she has made our jaws drop with her spell bounding performance as Raji in the series

There are also reports that Samantha will be co-starring with Shahid Kapoor in a web series titled "Fake" directed by the "The Family Man 2" creators Raj & DK.

A humanitarian at heart

Apart from being a huge name in the South Indian industry, Samantha also has a heart of gold. The actress runs an NGO which she started in 2012.

The non-governmental organization is called Pratyusha Support that provides support to women and children. She believes in humanity and is doing her bit to make society a better place. Along with providing aid to her NGO, she also provides aid to other NGOs for women and children as well as helping those NGOs that focus on welfare for the street animals.

Samantha's character in the new season of The Family Man is named Raji, who besides playing Srikant's opponent, works in a garment factory. To showcase and make the role as realistic as possible, she actually learnt the art of weaving in a real garment factory and took aid from the workers to ace her role.

Samantha went through intense and rigorous physical training and transformation to portray the role of Raji, as realistically as possible. She did hours of physical training every day and literally invested her blood and sweat for this character in the series.

To understand and try to be as true to the character of Raji, Samantha did intense research on how she wanted the character to look on the screen. She locked herself in a room for three days and watched multiple documentaries to get under the skin of Raji.

Samantha's last release was Jaanu (Feb 2020). Her film Oh! Baby was a major hit in 2019. In 2018, Samantha was seen in the Telugu action drama Rangasthalam with Ram Charan and AadhiPinisetty.

She will be seen next in the upcoming Telugu project Shaakuntalam.
