Spooky donuts at White Canary Cafe on Halloween

White Canary Café's spooky donuts on Halloween were not a hocus pocus, rather, the donuts were a perfect Halloween treat. The soft donuts with a thick layer of goodness on the top, melted in my mouth in every bite.

This year, White Canary Café celebrated the festivities of Halloween with a diversified range of brunch items and signature coffees named after comics book characters.

The exclusive Halloween day's offers were available from October 31 to November 2. With the best view, the café was also decorated according to Halloween theme with lights and carved pumpkins and spooky ghost characters.

Rowshan Ara, a house-wife came to the café with her daughter and grandson. She told The Business Standard, "I used to come here with my daughters to have coffees; it was a regular thing for us before the pandemic. This year I brought my grandson on Halloween. My grandson loves sweets; hence, he loved the Blueberry Butter Pancake for its buttery sweet flavour and blueberry sauce. And of course the 10-year-old loved the spooky yet, happy decorations as well."

"I think decorating the restaurant on Halloween with carved pumpkins and lights created a happy atmosphere which we all need right now for what's happening all around the world," she added

Located on North Avenue of Gulshan area, The White Canary Café is one of the coolest places in the town to have brunch all day.  The café is known for their wide range of coffees and signature brunch items.

Names of the coffees at White Canary will amuse the pop-culture and comic books fans. The Bruce Wayne, The Flash, The Hulk, are signature coffee items that will allure the comic book and pop-culture lovers.

Pasta, fried chicken, egg benedict, pizzas, sandwiches are popular brunch items of White Canary Café. Smoked chicken sandwich is a popular sandwich of the café for its dose of smoked chicken, secret sauce and brown bread. Its price is Tk375 (excluding vat).

If you plan to grab a bite with colleagues or friends at the café, White Canary offers the classic Blueberry Buttermilk Pancakes at Tk425.

The blueberry pancake is recommended for those who have really sweet tooth. Their freshly made Red Velvet Pancakes combine cake with cream cheese that melts in with the hot pancakes.

One of the attractive Halloween offers included a free donut with 8oz coffee while offer 2 had free cookies with special Halloween Drinks.

With a motto to try something different with the menu, the cafe introduced two new exclusive drinks items only for this Halloween. Although, White Canary Café's regular drinks are pretty yummy especially the Hot Chocolate Fondue.

One of those drinks was "Harley's Mischief," a drink specifically curated for strawberry enthusiasts which is a blend of strawberry puree and white chocolate sauce. This exclusive drink was topped with whipped cream and a side of white chocolate sauce with a hint of green and strawberry puree on the other side.

"Last year we celebrated Halloween at school and decorated our classrooms, however, this year was gloomy as we are taking online classes; my mother brought me here on Halloween, said 13-year-old Abrar Rahman.

"I tried the Harley's Mischief shake which was so yummy."

Ghost Rider was another signature drink which had a blend of white chocolate sauce and whipped cream topping. With these two drinks, visitors got free chocolate chip cooked, designed with orange colour to bring Halloween vibe.

Halloween themed donuts enhanced the spooky ambiance. Donuts were free with every coffee purchased.

Different refreshers are also available which are a little pricey. If somebody likes ice tea, they can get a large lemon iced tea (16oz) at Tk250.

For ice-cream lovers White Canary has ice-creams from Marble Slab creamery at various prices starting from Tk260. Ice-cream shakes are priced Tk360 (regular) and Tk440 (Large).
