For his rigorous performance in the movie "Dhaka Attack", Arifin Shuvo received the national award for "Best Actor in a Lead Role (Male)" for the year 2017. On receiving such a prestigious award, both an honour and an acknowledgement for his acting career, the actor got emotional.
He instantly took to Facebook Live, thanking all his fans, his colleagues, and the director of the film Dipankar Dipon.
Paying due regards to everyone, the actor asked for the continued support of his fans for his upcoming movie "Mission Extreme" directed by Faisal Ahmed.
On live awardee Arifin stated, "I am ecstatic to have received the medal straight from the honourable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina herself. Nothing else in the world is going to make me happier. Having said that, now my responsibilities have also increased."
After the completion of the award ceremony, Shuvo was seen in Banani, dinning at a restaurant along with his wife Arpita Shomaddar and friends, celebrating his stellar victory.
Initially starting his career as a model back in 2005, Shuvo made his debut in 2007, appearing in director Mostofa Sarwar Farooki's television series "Ha/Na" before appearing in his first film "Jaago - Dare To Dream" in 2010. All of these works have captured the audiences' attention towards him.
He made his debut into mainstream cinema with "Purno Doirgho Prem Kahini" in 2013. Playing the antagonist of the film, he received a nomination for "Best Actor" at the Meril Prothom Alo Awards.
He later went on to star in "Bhalobasha Zindabad" in 2013 and the romantic action film "Agnee" in 2014. His acting skills only got better with time. Following his worthy performance in "Chuye Dile Mon" in 2015, he earned him his first Meril Prothom Alo Award for "Best Actor". He later starred in the film "Musafir" directed by Ashiqur Rahman in 2016. Till now, "Dhaka Attack" has been the shinning jewel in his crown, with the movie earning him another Meril Prothom Alo Award for "Best Actor" in 20017 and the national award as well.
