The magical Miyazaki

Hayao Miyazaki has been creating magic on screen through his animated films for decades. The characters and emotions he creates, the dramas he executes are all unique. The animals and spirits he creates go beyond being just cute and cuddly.  

Maybe the characters only laugh and cry but their cries and their tears touch us in way which makes us long to love them and adore them more. Miyazaki is for everyone, no one is too old or young to watch his creations for they are ageless and timeless.  

Hayao Miyazaki is a name that can keep our excitement bar high for years after years, without any doubt. Now we are eagerly waiting for his next film 'How do you live?' that is going to be released in 2020.

With his magical touch, fantasy characters become a part of our real life. Totoro becomes our friend, Ponyo becomes our concern, and Kiki becomes our inspiration to take care of thyself.

He makes films on love, friendship, humanity and nature and there is always an underlined message in his films. Miyazaki is determined to change the world with his films, although he knows that nothing really changes, as he mentioned in a documentary made on NHK channel.

Everyone enjoys his films with the same pleasure, his perfection in executing stories in an artsy as well as fun way has taught us to believe that every hurdle in life can be overcome. As a child, he was quite close to his mother that is evident in many of the motherly and nurturing roles in his films.

Miyazaki's plots take days to build and it takes months of brain storming, as well as solace in solitude and effort. He picks things from his surroundings, blends them with imagination and garnishes them with lots of vibrant colours. Only then, we get characters like Totoro who become unforgivable icons.

Studio Ghibli may have many famous productions but Hayao Miyazaki is a name who is beyond all these things. He himself is an era that is eternal.
