People who are unable to get their second dose of Covid-19 vaccine from the hospital or vaccine centre where they received the first dose, will now be able to change their centres, the government has announced.

Due to various reasons, it is not possible for many vaccine recipients to get the second dose of the vaccine from where they got the first jab, said Dr Md Shamsul Haque, line director at the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Wednesday.
Considering the situation, the DGHS has listed five hospitals in the capital where people will be able to take the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, irrespective of the place where they got the first dose.
The five hospitals are Kuwait Bangladesh Friendship Government Hospital; National Institute of Kidney Diseases and Urology (NIKDU), National Institute of Ear, Nose, and Throat, Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery (SHNIBPS), and Mugda Medical College Hospital.
Outside the capital, people will be able to take the second dose of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine at various divisional medical college hospitals, district sadar hospitals, and upazila health complexes (excluding Sadar Upazilas), according to DGHS.
However, this option is not available to those who want to change their designated vaccine centre in the same district or city corporation.
Recipients will have to show their vaccination card in order to get the second shot and get its QR code scanned to have their information updated on the Surokkha website, the country's Covid-19 vaccine registration server.
Earlier on April 14, the Additional Director General of the DGHS, Prof Dr Meerjady Sabrina Flora said there is currently no opportunity to change the vaccination center.
"This will put pressure on the system. The second dose should be taken six to 12 weeks after taking the first dose of the vaccine. So there is no reason to be apprehensive or worried about the second dose of the vaccine," she added.
