JMI Syringes approves 30% cash dividend to shareholders
The company held its 20th annual general meeting on Saturday
The shareholders of JMI Syringes & Medical Devices Ltd on Saturday approved 30 percent cash dividend for the 2018-19 fiscal year at the company's 20th annual general meeting.
The meeting was held at the Sky City Hotel in Dhaka.
Last year, shareholders approved a Tk182.15 crore investment proposal by the Nipro Corporation of Japan at the 9th extraordinary general meeting of the company.
Nipro Corporation is a prominent international business conglomerate that produces pharmaceutical products, medical equipment and research based medical and surgical devices in 57 countries across the globe.
JMI Syringes & Medical Devices Ltd founder and Managing Director Md Abdur Razzak said at the meeting, "The government will benefit from foreign investment in Bangladesh, while we will be able to manufacture better products through technical support from foreign companies.
"We will be able to boost export of our products in other countries."
Among others, the company's Chairman Zabed Iqbal Pathan and Nipro Corporation's Representative Director Hisao Nakamori spoke at the meeting.
