DU business faculty teacher delegation visits Walton factory

A team of nine teachers from Dhaka University's Faculty of Business Administration visited Walton factory at Chandra in Gazipur on Saturday.

The academics first enjoyed a corporate documentary on Walton. Then they visited Walton Product Display Center and various production units, including refrigerators, compressor, air conditioner, television, SMT, washing machine production etc. 

During the visit, the educationalists overwhelmed witnessing the cutting edge production units of different hi-tech products at the factory.

The DU's delegation comprises Marketing Department's Professor, also Chairman, Dr. Mizanur Rahman, Professor Dr. Zakir Hossain Bhuiyan, Finance Dept's Professor Dr. M. Sadiqul Islam, Organization Strategy and Leadership Dept's Porfessor Dr. Muhammad Shariat Ullah, Accounting and Information Systems (AIS) Dept's Professor Mahfuzul Haque and Dr. Mohammad Tareq, Marketing Dept's Associate Professors Dr. Nazmul Hossain and Dr. Rafiuddin Ahmed, and Banking and Insurance Dept's Associate Professor Abdullah Al-Mahmud. 
Earlier on Saturday morning, Walton Hi-Tech Industries Limited (WHIL) Managing Director Engineer Golam Murshed welcomed the DU delegation with flower bouquets. 

After the visit, the DU's Marketing Department Chairman Professor Dr. Mizanur Rahman said, 'There is a saying in English- 'Seeing is believing.' Without seeing Walton factory, it is hard to believe that Walton is such a big manufacturing industry. We are overwhelmed. Walton is contributing to the socio-economic development and also to the national GDP.' 

Professor Dr. Zakir Hosssain Bhuiyan said, 'Some people may have doubt on the quality of Walton products due to the products' reasonable prices. Visiting Walton factory today, we witnessed that they are manufacturing world-class electronics here. Such doubt of those people will be changed if they visit Walton factory.' 

Professor Dr. M Sadiqul Islam said, 'Visiting Walton factory is a huge experience for us. We are overwhelmed by Walton's progress. Walton is greatly emphasizing on innovation, research and development, which is very commendable.'

Walton Hi-Tech Industries Limited's Managing Director Engineer Golam Murshed thanked the delegation for visiting the factory.
