I will always live as a SUST teacher: Zafar Iqbal

The prominent writer and professor at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) Muhammed Zafar Iqbal said on Thursday that he would not join other university after retirement from SUST to keep his identity only as a teacher of the university.

"Many private universities are offering me to join there after my retirement, but I would not go there," he said beside his wife Dr Yasmeen Haque at a commemoration event titled "25yrs in SUST" organized by SUST Science Arena.

"I want to live rest of my life as a SUST teacher," added the celebrated writer.

In the event, the popular writer and teacher recalled his life in the university campus.

"I enjoyed every single moment of the 25 years, which I had passed in the university. I will leave the university with wonderful memories," said Zafar Iqbal.

He also talked about the history of the Liberation War in 1971 and talked about his celebrated book Amar Bondhu Rahsed.

Zafar Iqbal joined in SUST as an associate professor in 1994. He served as a professor at the Department of Computer Science and Electronics and as the head of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department.
