In the present time, almost everything depends on technology. It has been integrated in household appliances too, making them smarter.

Utilising the excellence of technology, Walton is bringing smart refrigerators in the market.

The appliance has been introduced as IoT (Internet of Things) based smart refrigerator. This refrigerator, enriched with an attractive design and modern features, can be controlled by a smartphone.

To bring new technology-based products for the customers, Walton has established one of the largest research and development division in Walton Hi-Tech Industry at Chandra in Gazipur.

Talented, skilled and experienced engineers from home and abroad are working to produce the latest technology-based refrigerators. The IoT facility was included as a continuation of research on using technology in necessary household appliances.

Engineers at Walton Fridge Research and Development said that a Wi-Fi module is attached as an IoT device to the control board of the smart refrigerator. So, the refrigerator will be connected to the internet.

You have to install "Walton Smart Appliance" app in your smartphone to control the refrigerator.

A LED display has been used in the Walton Smart Refrigerator and as it is connected to the internet, allowing you to watch any video including your favourite recipes. There are special cameras by which you can have the necessary information on the display or the smartphone about the stored food in the fridge, from wherever you are in the world.

Using your smartphone, you can know whether the refrigerator is switched on or switched off, the compressor is working properly, the voltage supply is enough, how much electricity is being consumed, how much food is stored in the refrigerator and how fresh the food is.

You can lower the temperature of the deep fridge to make the food ready for cooking. The artificial intelligence will send a notification when the stored food has run out. It will even inform your favourite super shop or e-commerce store, if required.

Walton Smart Refrigerator has been made following the international standard according to the criteria set by the Bangladesh Standard and Testing Institute (BSTI). It includes low-electricity-consuming intelligent inverter technology based compressor.

So, it consumes less electricity. Moreover, globally recognised environment-friendly R600A Refrigerant compressor has been used. As it is non-frost, there will be no unwanted ice inside.

Walton fridge is Bangladesh Accreditation Board and ISO certified. To maintain the quality, a zero-tolerance policy has been adopted. Customers will receive one-year replacement guaranty for fridge and 12-year guaranty for the compressor.

Engineer Golam Murshed, CEO of Walton Refrigerator, said, "Walton is leading the fridge market in the country by ensuring state of the art production system, international standard, reasonable price, innovation, effective marketing strategy, and fast and best after-sales service."

Walton fridge is exported to more than 35 countries in the world. At present, Walton targets developed countries like Europe, America and Australia.

He continued, "We are working hard to enhance the business volume of the Walton brand abroad. Experts from home and abroad including Italy, Japan and South Korea are working on the product design, production and marketing of Walton products."

Engineer Golam Murshed said that the Walton has received many international standards and quality certificates from CE, CB, ROHS, REACH, EMC, EU, USA and many others.

He hoped that the Walton Smart Refrigerator will be widely popular abroad.

"As a result, not only the export will increase, but the image of Bangladesh will be known as an industrially developed country throughout the world. The country will be recognised as 'Digital Bangladesh' across the world," he added.
