Digital Device and Innovation Expo 2021 to start on 1 April

Digital Device and Innovation Expo 2021 is due to kick off in the capital city on 1 April in a bid to create an investment and trade-friendly environment in the digital industry.

President Abdul Hamid will inaugurate the exhibition through joining online as the chief guest, the organisers said.

The ICT Division, Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority and Bangladesh Computer Samity (BCS) are jointly organising the exhibition.

The three-day expo will be held in the auditorium of the Bangladesh Film Archive in the city's Agargaon area.

The organisers made the announcement at a press conference held at the Bangladesh Computer Council auditorium of ICT Tower on Wednesday.

At the press conference, State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak said this year's Digital Device and Innovation Expo is being organised using physical and virtual platforms due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

With this, anyone can visit the fair stalls sitting at home. The three day-long expo will be open, virtually, to all, he added.

The state minister also said various seminars will be arranged at the expo to enhance the knowledge of technology among the students.

Palak said the event will help in: creating public awareness, creating investment and a trade-friendly environment in the IT sector, increasing youth participation, creating employment, earning foreign exchange, and forming entrepreneurs.

Hosne Ara Begum NDC, managing director (Secretary) of Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority, also spoke at the press conference.

BCS president Shahid Ul Munir gave a detailed idea about the plan of the exhibition in a PowerPoint presentation.

NM Ziaul Alam, senior secretary, ICT Division and Syed Mujibul Haque, director of the Idea Project also addressed the press conference.
