Bangladeshi left-arm spinner Nazmul Islam Apu has recovered from Covid-19, along with his parents, who were also infected. He was tested for Covid-19 on Monday and the reports came out to be negative on Wednesday.
Apu himself confirmed the news to The Business Standard (TBS). The spinner told TBS that he and his parents are all currently in good conditions.
Apu tested positive for Covid-19 on June 20 and was in isolation at his home in Narayanganj since then.
Apu told TBS, "I did the test on the day before yesterday and got the report today. Everyone including my parents have tested negative. I can now relax a bit."
Apu added that he was in discomfort since testing positive for the virus. He said, "You can not relax after being infected by such a disease. Even if you are healthy after being infected, a feeling of discomfort will work within you. That is why I could not relax until I got the result. I am feeling very happy after testing negative, it feels like freedom."
Apu is one of the cricketers who has helped the bereaved during these troubled times. He helped the people in Narayanganj from the very beginning and to ensure his family's safety, he stayed away from his home during those days.
