Cricket Australia doesn't see T20 World Cup go as scheduled

Global tournaments like the Olympic, Euro Championship, Copa America have been postponed for one year due to the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic. Some bilateral series in cricket have also been postponed. But International Cricket Council (ICC) is yet to take a call on the fate of this year's T20 World Cup.

But as the scheduled date is approaching, the chances of the tournament going as scheduled are getting gloomier. The host of the tournament, Cricket Australia, has admitted that it will difficult to do so.

Cricket Australia chairman Earl Eddings said in a video conference on Tuesday, "We haven't made an official decision. But pondering the current situation, it is almost impossible to bring 16 teams from different parts of the world given the Covid-19 situation."

ICC will take a decision regarding the tournament next month.
