Coronavirus spreads to 60 countries
The deadly virus has killed more than 2,900 people and infected more than 83,000 worldwide
The risk of a global spread and impact of the coronavirus is now "very high" as the coronavirus COVID-19 has already affected 60 countries and territories around the world, said the World Health Organisation.
The cases of people infected with the coronavirus and died from the virus are growing fast in Italy, Iran, South Korea and beyond. The deadly virus has killed more than 2,900 people and infected more than 83,000 worldwide.
China - the epicentre of the deadly disease – alone saw 2,835 deaths with 79,252 infections from the virus as of today.
Like China, another East Asian nation South Korea has been dealing with the second-highest number of confirmed coronavirus infection cases after China. The country has confirmed 3,150 cases and 17 deaths.
From Asia the epidemic jumped the fence into Europe. Italy is now the focal point of the novel coronavirus as the country becomes Europe's epicenter of the virus with 889 confirmed cases and 21 deaths.
The country put 12 towns on lockdown and closed some of the country's most famous attractions to curb the virus' spread.
The outbreak also hit a cruise ship in Japan name Diamond Princess. More than 700 passengers and crew who were on the ship tested positive for the coronavirus and six were died. Also, Japan confirmed five deaths with 236 confirmed cases.
The coronavirus is spreading in the Middle East as well. Iran confirmed 388 cases and 34 deaths so far- the highest number in the continent.
Countries like France, UK, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Philippines also reported deaths from the new coronavirus.
US, Australia, Germany, Brazil, Israel, India, Nepal, Monaco along with many others countries reported new confirmed coronavirus cases.
