"Due to the ever-changing circumstances of what's going on in the world around us, now is clearly not the right time to do that," Krasinski said in a post on his Instagram account.
"A Quiet Place 2" features Krasinski's wife, British actor Emily Blunt in the lead role.
The Paramount film was scheduled to hit movie theatres on March 18. The film joins the list of the Hollywood movies to be pushed back because of the virus that has closed movie theatres in China, Italy and many other countries.
