Maldives foreign minister to visit Bangladesh
During the visit, the two foreign ministers will hold a bilateral meeting on 9 February to discuss issues of mutual interest covering the entire gamut of bilateral relations
Foreign Minister of Maldives Abdulla Shahid is scheduled to pay an official visit to Bangladesh on Monday.
He will come to Bangladesh on a four-day trip upon invitation of Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen, reads a press release.
During the visit, the two foreign ministers will hold a bilateral meeting on 9 February to discuss issues of mutual interest covering the entire gamut of bilateral relations.
The foreign minister of Maldives is also expected to pay courtesy calls on the President Abdul Hamid and the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The ministers will also witness the signing of an MoU on cooperation between the Bangladesh Foreign Service Academy and the Foreign Service Institute of Maldives.
Bangladesh and the Maldives share excellent bilateral relations which has been strengthened over the years. Around 80,000 Bangladeshi expatriate workers are currently working in that country.
