Maldives' FM reaches Dhaka on official trip
The foreign minister of Maldives, Abdulla Shahid has reached Dhaka on Monday night, on an official trip responding to an invitation by his Bangladeshi counterpart.
He arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 11:15 pm. He will stay here until 11 February, said a press release.
During the visit, the two foreign ministers will hold a bilateral meeting on 9 February, to discuss issues of mutual interest covering the entire gamut of bilateral relations.
The foreign minister of Maldives is also expected to pay courtesy calls on the president and the prime minister.
The two foreign ministers will also witness the signing of an MoU on cooperation between the Bangladesh Foreign Service Academy and the Foreign Service Institute of Maldives.
Bangladesh and the Maldvies share excellent bilateral relation which has been strengthened over the years.
Around 80,000 Bangladeshi expatriate workers are currently working in that country.
