Chittagong Stock Exchange Ltd (CSE) has recently lauded a stimulus package of Tk72,750 crore, announced by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the fight against the coronavirus outbreak in the country.

A press release was issued in this regard on Friday by the chairman of the bourse, Asif Ibrahim.

The note termed the stimulus package as a timely declaration and added that the expanding monetary policy under the package will increase the purchasing power of common people of the country.

There has to be a boost in the domestic demand so that the purchasing power of people increases and the economy receives an acceleration, it said.

The capital market is going to observe the benefits after starting its operations from implementation of this package, said CSE.
