A brother and his sister were crushed to death by a train in Mirsharai upazila of Chattogram on Friday evening

A brother and his sister were crushed to death by a train in Mirsharai upazila of Chattogram on Friday evening.

The deceased were identified as Abdul Malek, 23, and Sumaya, 14, son and daughter of Nurul Mostafa, of Wahedpur union in the upazila.

According to witnesses, Malek and Sumaya came to visit Wahedpur in this afternoon. Of them, Malek , who had hearing problem, was taking photos standing on the rail track when a Dhaka-bound train was approaching toward him.

Sensing the danger, as the sister tried to save Malek but both of them crushed under the wheel of train unfortunately and died on the spot.

On information, a team of police rushed in the spot to recover the bodies, said Kamrul Hasan, officer-in-charge of Chattogram Government Railway Police (GRP).
