Two children were killed after being crushed under the wheels of a Khulna-bound train in Ahaki area of Konabari on Sunday morning.
Abu Siddique, officer-in-charge (OC) of Konabari Police Station, said the train hit the children as they were positioning on Dhaka-Rajshahi rail track in the area around 10 am.
The accident left them dead on the spot. The identification of the deceased could not be known immediately. However, the ages of the children were between 12 and 14.
One of them was in jeans pant and an orange t-shirt while another one was wearing jeans pant and a black shirt, the OC added.
On information, police rushed in and recovered the bodies from the spot, said Sub Inspector Abdul Mannan of Joydebpur Railway Junction Police Outpost.
Necessary legal measures would be taken in this connection, the SI added.
