Launching of easy-bikes with no carbon emission

OK Doel came up with an innovative easy-bike ride-sharing service ensuring safety, security and entertainment for passengers.
Solar- and electricity-powered bikes have a 360-degree camera to record and send video clips to the data center to ensure security. Also, the vehicles have a panic switch to control speed.
Moreover, a tab would be installed in the cabin and connected with unlimited high-speed data. Passengers can use that tab for any purpose, such as watching videos from YouTube and browsing email and Facebook, while riding in the easy-bikes.
Meanwhile, to ensure data connectivity, monitoring capabilities and digital entertainment, mobile phone operator Robi Axiata Limited and OK Doel signed an agreement on Thursday in the capital.
As per the agreement, Robi will provide digital services at the cheapest rate through industrial SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) cards.
Addressing the signing ceremony as the chief guest, Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar said it was the first time that such an innovative technology was deployed to provide ride-sharing services.
People should be benefitted from any innovative idea, and the technology will cater to people from all classes, he said.
Robi Managing Director and CEO Mahtab Uddin Ahmed said, "We have always been with innovation and new technologies."
Bangladeshi easy-bike manufacturer Baag Motors is working on the technology to protect the environment. "I believe the combination of our latest technology and their environmental-friendly innovative initiatives will bring about a revolutionary change in the industry," Mahtab said.
OK Doyle President Kazi Jasimul Islam said the company had made the success through hard work for around two years.
"Our target was to make an environment-friendly vehicle which will ensure safety and security in all aspects.
"We have used lithium-ion batteries. And the solar system is the power source ensuring no carbon emission. Also, we ensured the best body of easy-bike, hydraulic brake and addressed the other safety issues."
A few vehicles are in service in Gazipur as a test run, and people are giving positive feedbacks, Jasimul Islam added.
