Liberation War Museum to hold programme celebrating 25th anniversary
It will also celebrate the 50th anniversary of independence
Liberation War Museum has scheduled a number of programmes to celebrate its 25th anniversary on 22 March and the 50th anniversary of Bangladesh's independence on 26 March.
On 14, 15, and 16 March, a three-day freedom Musicfest will be organised in order to spread the history of liberation war among the new generation, said a press release.
Singers of 15 popular bands of the country will perform at this festival. The programme will be broadcast live on the official Facebook page of the Liberation War Museum at 9 pm.
A special programme for adolescents will be organised on the occasion of the 101st birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on 17 March.
The programme will start at 10 am and continue till 1 pm where adolescents from Yusuf School, Kallyanpur Girls School and College, Saleha School and College, Hazarat Shah Ali Model School and College, Sher-E-Bangla Nagar Government Girls' High School, and some other institutions will participate.
A virtual silver jubilee celebration of the Liberation War Museum will be held on social media on 22 March where Liberation War Museum Trustee Dr Sarwar Ali, Asaduzzaman Noor MP and Historian Dipesh Chakrabarty will deliver their speech.
On 25 March, a candlelight programme will be organised around the Shikha Chir-Amlan at 6:30 pm. Museum staffs, family members of freedom fighters will participate in the programme.
On 25 and 26 March, a two-day programme recalling the memory of execution place will be held at Jute-Potti in Mirpur-10 from 4 pm to 8 pm.
A number of educational institutions, cultural and children's organisations from the Mirpur region will participate in the programme where martyrs' family will commemorate their memory.
