The Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Planning held their 7th meeting at the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban here today with Committee Chairman Abul Kalam Azad in the chair.

During the meeting, the committee underscored the necessity of public awareness regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19), said a press release here.

The parliamentary watchdog opined that creating public awareness in greater scale can prevent the virus from spreading further.

The meeting discussed the work progress of projects undertaken for the development of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport and other airports under the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, said the release.

The meeting also discussed the proposal of committee member Saber Hossain Chowdhury, to include the household activities of women to the GDP.

Senior secretaries of Planning Commission, General Economy Department and Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry, secretaries of Statistics and Information Management Department, Planning Department, IMED, Health Care Department, Health Education and Family Welfare and the relevant officials of the Secretariat were also present at the meeting.
