How the boy who evaded security has now had his dream fulfilled

Juanyed Mollah's dream to fly on a plane came true Thursday as he got to make an air trip to the beach town of Cox's Bazar from Dhaka sponsored by local electronic giant Walton on Thursday (21 September).

The 12-year-old boy made headlines earlier this month after he boarded a Kuwait-bound plane evading security at Dhaka airport.

"Even if I got to board a plane [on 11 September], my dream to fly in a plane remained unfulfilled. Finally, Walton has fulfilled that dream.  They brought me to Cox's Bazar from Dhaka," he said Thursday.

While he succeeded in boarding the Kuwait-bound plane, he was forced to get off after a head count of the passengers on the plane revealed his unauthorised boarding without any passport or visa.

Junayed, accompanied by his paternal uncle Yusuf Molla, boarded a Cox's Bazar plane from the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) at 1:00pm.

After getting off the plane, he was provided accommodation at a luxurious hotel.

Expressing immense joy regarding the trip, Yusuf said, "I got to fly in a plane for the first time in my life because of my nephew. Walton brought us to Cox's Bazar from Dhaka. My nephew's dream has come true.

"Also, the security personnel who lost their jobs should get their jobs back. I make this request to the government."

The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) has suspended 10 officials after Junayed managed to board a Kuwait Airlines flight without a passport or ticket earlier this month.

Junayed hails from Muksudpur upazila in Gopalganj. He studies in a local madrasah.

On 11 September, without informing anyone at home, he embarked on a journey from Muksudpur to his paternal aunt's residence in the capital's Bashundhara area. But Instead of going to his aunt's house, Junayed went directly to see the airport and eventually boarded a Kuwait Airlines flight.
