"Formal announcement in this regard will come after a meeting of concerned committee," she said
All schools and colleges across the country will reopen after Eid, said Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni.
"As the number of deaths from Covid-19 and new cases has been increasing rapidly over past few days, the decision on reopening will be reviewed considering the health security of the students," the minister told media today.
The minister also highlighted that if the infection rate continues to rise, the ongoing holidays of primary, secondary and higher secondary level educational institutions may be extended till Eid by coordinating with the university level institutes.
She said, "Formal announcement in this regard will come after a meeting of the national committee."
Earlier, a decision was taken at an inter-ministerial meeting at the secretariat to reopen the educational institutions on 30 March, after more than a year of shutdown over the Covid-19 pandemic.
In the face of the Covid-19 outbreak in the country, the government shut all educational institutions on 17 March last year to contain mass infection.
