A roadside banner put up by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has gone viral on social media as it shows portraits of the seven Bir Sreshthas – the Liberation War martyrs – as Language Movement heroes.
The DMP admitted that the banner had been printed by its Ramna Zone.
The banner was later withdrawn after noticing the error, said Masudur Rahman, deputy commissioner of the DMP Media Wing.
Talking to The Business Standard, Masudur Rahman said the authorities do not know who printed and put up the banner containing the mistakes.
He said they will investigate the matter.
When contacted, Sheikh Muhammad Shamim, assistant commissioner of the DMP's Ramna Zone, declined to make any comment.
