Submit probe report on Surandra Sinha’s case by Dec 5: Court

A Dhaka court asked Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) to submit probe report by December 5 on a case filed against former chief justice Surendra Kumar Sinha for allegedly taking bribe.

Metropolitan Magistrate Sattyabrata Shikdar set the date today, confirmed Abdus Salam, an officer of ACC General Recording (GR) department.

ACC Chairman Iqbal Mahmud has been investigating into the case.

Barrister Nazmul Huda filed the case against Sinha with Shahbagh Police Station on September 27, 2018.

The plaintiff alleged that the then chief justice Sinha, being instigated, changed the verdict of a case against him despite the fact that the case was earlier disposed of at the High Court.

Chief justice Sinha also allegedly demanded a Tk2 crore bribe from Huda to dispose of the case.
