A Dhaka court has placed Mojnu, the accused of Dhaka University student rape case, on seven-day remand for police interrogation.

Missing teeth, stolen phone lead to arrest of DU student rape accused

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sarafuzzaman Ansari granted the remand when police produced him before the court with 10-day remand plea today.

The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Wednesday (January 8) arrested the alleged rapist Mojnu based on the description given by the victim and by tracking her mobile phone which was snatched by the rapist.
The victim, a second-year student of Dhaka University, was picked up by the rapist after she got down from bus in Kurmitola area in the capital on January 5 afternoon and then was taken to a secret place, where she was raped and tortured.
