6-member committee formed over Adamjee Court fire
The fire broke out on the 7th floor of Adamjee Court building on Monday noon
A six-member committee has been formed over the fire incident at Adamjee Court building in the capital's Motijheel area on Monday noon.
The committee members include fire service, police, Bangladesh Jute Mills Corporation (BJMC) representative, and officials from Textile and jute ministry, reads a press release in the evening.
The committee was asked to investigate the reasons behind the fire and submit recommendations within five days regarding averting the future risk of repetitive fire, according to the press release.
A fire broke out on the 7th floor of Adamjee Court building, which houses a branch of NRB Commercial Bank, around 1:35 pm.
Thirteen firefighting units brought the flame under control around 3:30 pm after two hours of frantic efforts, said firefighter Md Anisur Rahman from the spot.
The cause of the fire and extent of damage could not be known yet.
