30th death anniversary of Dr Milon observed
Martyr Dr Milon was a shining star of democracy in the country

The 30th death anniversary of martyr Dr Shamsul Alam Khan Milon, a pioneer of anti-authoritarian movement, was observed on Friday.
On this day, dozens of political, cultural and social organisations paid homage to him by placing wreaths at his grave on the Dhaka Medical College premises.
Early in the morning, Awami League and BNP separately placed floral wreaths at his grave.
Bahauddin Nasim, joint general secretary of the Awami League, said that martyr Dr Milon was a shining star of democracy in the country.
His martyrdom was successful as Bangladesh has established democracy as well as the country moving towards democracy further, he added.
However, paying homage to this martyre every year will accelerate democracy undoubtedly, Bahauddin Nasim added further.
While placing a wreath, BNP Joint Secretary General Amanullah Aman said that Dr Milon sacrificed his life for the democratic status of the country.
In line with Awami League and BNP, Bangabandhu Cultural Jote, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal - Jasad, Awami Krishak League, Bangladesh Chhatra League, different branches of Jubo League, Student Forum, Krishak Sramik Janata League and Workers Party of Bangladesh also paid their tributes.
