Covid is our first priority, no victory processions, she says

As TMC is likely to win over 200 seats in the election, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said this is a victory for people of Bengal.

"I would like to thank everyone. I request all to not take out victory processions. I urge everyone to go back to their homes now," Mamata Banerjee said at her office.

"All of you who have gathered here, I want to thank you all. You all have worked very hard," she told the crowd.

Meanwhile, India's Defence Minister and BJP leader Rajnath Singh congratulated Mamata on her party's stunning performance in the Assembly election.

The Mamata Banerjee-led TMC is poised to win over 200 seats in 294-member Bengal Assembly.
