Netanyahu warns of Beirut strikes if Hezbollah attacks persist
Israeli Defence Minister Katz said military operations in southern Lebanon will continue under all circumstances
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has warned that Israel may launch strikes on targets in Beirut if Hezbollah continues attacks on Israeli cities and civilians.
In a Facebook statement, Netanyahu said he conveyed the message to US President Donald Trump, stressing that Israel would target what he described as "terror targets" in the Lebanese capital if the group does not halt its attacks.
The Israeli premier also said the military would continue its operations in southern Lebanon as planned.

The defence minister also said Israel's military is studying the possibility of carrying out additional operations in Lebanon and suggested that attacks could be expanded depending on developments along the border.
He said Israel's longer-term objective is to disarm Hezbollah while its immediate focus is on removing the group's weapons from areas south of the Litani River under Israeli control, reports Al Jazeera.
Earlier, Netanyahu and Israel Katz instructed the Israeli military to target Hezbollah sites in Beirut's southern suburb of Dahiyeh, accusing the group of repeatedly violating the ceasefire agreement and carrying out attacks against Israeli civilians.
