India's July infrastructure output contracted 9.6 percent in July from a year earlier, government data released on Monday showed, as government restrictions in response to Covid-19 weighed on economic activities.
Infrastructure output, which comprises eight sectors including coal, crude oil and electricity and accounts for nearly 40 percent of industrial output, contracted 20.5 percent in the four months through July from a year earlier, the data showed.
