Transformers at the power sub-station are said to have been damaged due to the fire

A huge fire has broken out amid rain at a power sub-station in Noida of India's capital Delhi.

The sub-station is named Noida Power Company Limited (NPCL) in sector-148, reports NDTV.

Several fire engines are at the spot and fire-fighting operations are on.

Indian Parliament Annexe building fire brought under control: Report

The fire, which broke out at around 8:30 AM, is yet to be brought under control. Thick, black plumes of smoke could be seen in Noida's skyline, kilometres away from where the blaze is.

Transformers at the power sub-station are said to have been damaged due to the fire.

More details are awaited.
