Time goes on doing academic activities, from exams to assigning assignments to university, getting the presentation pitch ready and presenting it, getting busy with books, preparing for mid-term exams, tuitions, and various personal tasks. It becomes challenging to provide time in the planned resolution taken every year

The new year begins with a new chapter in student's lives. Students have many plans for the new year and make promises to fulfill their every year's resolution, but only a few of them remember to make it possible. According to a study, 12% of students can reach their planned resolution for the new year. Sounds bad? Because there are many reasons for this awful thing. The pressure of academic studies, exams, failing, and losing due to various reasons almost do not fulfill the student's new year's planned resolution. This are severe reasons for which students fail to comply with the resolution in many ways, negatively affecting their future lives.

Ragib Shahriar, an MBBS student at Cox's Bazar Medical College, promises that he will read various literary books, novels, and books by many authors every year. With these resolutions, he wants to meet the year's resolution to make him more knowledgeable, better through learning more. However, this is not possible due to the high pressure of academic activities, preoccupation with exams, lack of motivation, inability to implement the plan properly, lack of proper direction.

He added that success stories like these are not usually promoting when someone has reached the end of the year, and the resolution has fulfilled[AR1] . Furthermore, due to the lack of proper guidelines, changing the plan's goals repeatedly, lifestyle changes, and excessive mobile use, all the resolution he has set are ruined.

Md. Zulkarnine Khan, a BBA student at the University of Chittagong, in a conversation with the author, said that his planned resolution failed every year due to lack of continuity. He has to make changes in his daily routine despite not wanting to because he is busy with various tasks, which leads to a loss of continuity in implementing the resolutions he has taken. Unable to maintain that continuity, most resolutions hinder the steps taken for success and ultimately do not achieve success.[AR2]

He elaborated that it is sometimes difficult to carry out a plan. The whole year does not depend on the resolutions decided every year because in many cases, the annoyance towards the resolution period goes away. Sometimes there are situations in life where it is difficult to stand firm in resolution. Moreover, a lack of commitment to the resolution period could be another reason for the failure.

The author has also talked with Muhammad Sakib, a BBA student at the University of Dhaka. He told that not appropriately managing time can also be a significant obstacle in the resolution period. Time goes on doing academic activities, from exams to assigning assignments to university, getting the presentation pitch ready and presenting it, getting busy with books, preparing for mid-term exams, tuitions, and various personal tasks. It becomes challenging to provide time in the planned resolution taken every year.

Talking to the author in detail, he added that the effort is given very little on the resolution taken in one's plan despite the occasional lack of motivation. Because there is no mentor or any other person to motivate us, for this reason, even if he wants to give more effort, it does not happen due to lack of motivation.

Moreover, two-thirds of the students the author talked to say they set their resolutions every year. However, when they first fail to do so, many of them lose the motivation to continue as they accept that it is impossible.

Finally, the author talked to many students. After taking their opinions, realised that students could not fulfill their annual resolutions due to various problems such as not maintaining time, academic activities, other activities, etc. Due to which this failure exists every year and students are doing much harm to themselves.
