The dream of building a digital Bangladesh is being fulfilled at the hands of the country's young generation.
Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni came up with the observation while addressing the grand finale event of 'Banglalink Innovators 2020' on Thursday.
Observing that youths are the main treasure of a nation, she said they need to be empowered to fulfill the dream of digital Bangladesh. Banglalink is contributing to flourishing their talents through providing this platform.
"It is increasing their digital capacity in the long run. I hope this appreciation would encourage them to be more innovative. In this way, the young generation would lead us forward," he added.
Banglalink's Chief Executive Officer Erik Aas said, "If necessary oppurtunities can be provided to innovative youths, they would be able to flourish their talents. Besides it would help solving the socio-economic problems. There is no alternative to this to build a technology-based Bangladesh."
Banglalink's Chief Human Resources and Administrative Officer Manjula Morshed said our aim is to empower the talented youths through innovative ideas collective efforts.
In the grand finale, the competitors being divided into five groups presented their innovative ideas and the judges selected best three from them.
Team Decode secured the first place, presenting a plan on skill development platform. Team White Collar Crew and Team Blink consecutively became the first and second runner-ups presenting ideas on gaming platform.
Members of the three teams will get the opportunity to join the assessment centre of strategic assistant programme of Banglalink.
Member of other teams joining the grand finale would get the opportunity to directly join the advance internship programme of Banglalink.
Besides, they would be able to participate in 'learn from start-ups' and 'campus to corporate' programmes of the telecom operator.
The annual Banglalink Innovators competition first started in 2017.
This year, a number of 16,000 youths registered to take part in the competition.
